Welcome to JungBytes! As we begin our eleventh year, we look forward to having a place on our web site where we welcome new friends while keeping in touch with so many of you who have helped us grow from our initial Jung on the Hudson offering in Rhinebeck, New York to the point where we are now presenting conferences and study/tours world wide. In this section of the site, we will keep you current on recent events and future plans. Additionally, we would welcome your input and hope that you, too, will use this site as a way of communicating with friends and colleagues you have met at one of our programs and keep us informed of your interests, aspirations and experiences over the course of the year. Indeed, if you have any news to add to JungBytes, please send us an e-mail at the following address: info@nyjungcenter.org.

2003 Jung on the Hudson
Summer Seminars

This past summer, we celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Jung on the Hudson seminars with not only a full turnout of participants but with parties and music held each week at the New World Home Cooking Restaurant in Woodstock. A wonderful Latino band mesmerized us each week as we enjoyed listening to the gripping Afro/Cuban rhythms and (for some of us) letting loose our Jungian wild side as we danced and moved to the beguiling music we were treated to. It helped us begin preparing for the special study/tour to Cuba we planned for week three of Jung on the Hudson - held in Havana, from August 3-10.

To the right are some of the photos sent to us by participants of weeks one and two of the 2003 Jung on the Hudson seminars. For those who have never joined us before, we hope it will give you an idea of the spectacular setting for these seminars- held in the Historic Hudson Valley each year the last two weeks in July. For recent participants and past friends, we trust some of the scenes will revive pleasant memories of time well spent at the Jung on the Hudson seminars over the course of the past ten years.

August 2003 “The Spirit of Cuba: Myth, Music and Mysticism”
Almost without exception, the feedback, evaluations and comments we received from all who joined us in Cuba this past summer were positive, upbeat and gracious. Held in conjunction with The Center for Creative Education, the time spent in Havana, Cienfuegos and Trinidad was a moving experience for all of us who were able to travel there and a trip we will not soon forget. It is impossible to put into words what feelings were raised as we saw firsthand how the music and mystical qualities of the island are manifested in the warmth and dignity of the Cuban people. Here are some photos of participants who joined us and places we visited over the course of our study/tour.

Some Future Plans
As we plan ahead for our Spring programs in Ireland and the 2006 Jung on the Hudson seminars, we are implementing some of the valuable suggestions we have received from a number of you. Some of these include integrating smaller workshops as part of each program, offering optional movement, yoga and walks to help us engage and nurture our bodies as well as our minds and spirits. We hope to continue modifying and improving future programs with your important feedback.

Keep in Touch
Please keep the suggestions coming while watching this web site for news of future plans and programs- such as this coming summer’s Jung on the Hudson presentation of: “Memories, Meaning and the Mind” (July 16-21, 2006) and “Family as Archetype: The Need to Belong" (July 23-July 28, 2006).

Finally, again, please do stay in touch with us in general. We would like to include in JungBytes your comments, including suggested topics and presenters that interest you and countries you would like to visit. Additionally, if you have any comments on our programs , and/or news that would be of interest to friends and colleagues,” please send us an e-mail to JungBytes@nyjungcenter.org.
